Unless Christianity is wholly false, the perception of ourselves which we have in moments of shame must be the only true one...

He that cometh to God, must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

If you are really a product of a materialistic universe, how is it that you don't feel at home there?

God's Movement
"We do not have to leave movements. We simply move on with God! As long as a movement moves we move with it. The different movements in history of the Church (Lutherans, Anglicans,Congregationalist, Methodists, Salvation Army) although part of His true restoration are only incidental with God. God has one great movement we should all belong to, and that has never ceased moving."

Truth
John Piper once wisely wrote, “Bad theology dishonors God and hurts people. Churches that sever the root of truth may flourish for a season, but they will wither eventually or turn into something besides a Christian church.”

Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust
Psalm 40:4 New Living Translation (NLT)
Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.
Psalm 40:4 The Message (MSG)
Blessed are you who give yourselves over to God, turn your backs on the world’s “sure thing,” ignore what the world worships;

I am Free in Christ
Galatians 2: 17-21 New Living Translation
16 Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.”
17 But suppose we seek to be made right with God through faith in Christ and then we are found guilty because we have abandoned the law. Would that mean Christ has led us into sin? Absolutely not!
18 Rather, I am a sinner if I rebuild the old system of law I already tore down.
19 For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.
20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.

There is a Reason
Philippians 1:3-4
Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.
Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy,
The people God has surrounded me with at this time in my life, are not there by accident. They are there to teach, to help, to grow in Love, Grace and patience, or just maybe to bring joy. God has put them in my life for a reason (and vice versa!) I give thanks to God for these people and pray for them.

What is the Goal
Last Sunday our pastor Fred said something that really sums up where I
have come in life over the past 36 years as a Christian. I listerned
to the pod cast again today and wrote it down and want to share it:
"Maybe some of us have been part of a faith community that the thing
to do is we are going to find the right thing to believe about
everything so that they can prove everyone wrong. That not a lot of fun or
life giving. That is why we are not a part of those communities any
more. I believe the goal is not to have the right picture. But to know
God and live with HIM, and HE makes things clear."

Grace for All Occasions
My Own Fault
By Elisabeth Elliot
Someone who is suffering as a result of his own foolishness or failure may read these words. These griefs are hard indeed to bear, for we feel we might easily have avoided them. We have no one to blame but ourselves, and there isn't much consolation there. Sometimes we imagine that we must bear this kind of trouble alone, but that is a mistake. The Lamb of God, slain for us, has borne all of our griefs and carried all of our sorrows, no matter what their origin. All grief and sorrow is the result of sin somewhere along the line, but Christ received them willingly. It is nothing but pride that keeps me from asking Him to help me to bear the troubles which are my own fault.
